Gregory N. Smith, CPP
has enjoyed a successful career in security management for over ten years. He
has a diploma is Security Management from Grant MacEwan College, a Security
Management certificate from the University of Alberta, and an I.T. Security
certificate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, certificates in
CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) Levels 1 & 2 from the
Edmonton Police Service, as well as numerous security, business, and safety
certificates. He is also Board Certified in Security Management, having earned
the CPP (Certified Protection Professional) designation in 2002. Elaine Smith, CPP is Board certified in Security Management by ASIS International and has over fifteen years experience in Corporate Security. Elaine has a Security Management Certificate from the University of Alberta and is currently completing her risk management designation. She has completed Basic and Enhanced CPTED training and studied Sociology at the UofA. Elaine’s experience has primarily been in: property management, primarily in large retail and AAA office buildings and; racing, gaming, and major event security, including professional sporting events, concerts and dignitary visits. She is currently serving on the Executive committee of the Edmonton/Northern Alberta Chapter of ASIS International; is Co-Chair of the Downtown Business Association Operation Committee and chairs a DBA sub-committee on Edmonton’s Pedway System. Greg has established himself in property management as an innovative leader in
establishing best practices in physical security, life safety and crime
prevention. He was recognized by Security Magazine for Best Practices in
Security in 2004, and received a Safety Recognition Award for Best Practices in
Parkade Security from the City of Edmonton. Greg has also appeared in various
news articles as a resource in crime prevention.
Greg is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Downtown
Business Association, is the current Chair of the Edmonton Safer Cities CPTED
Committee and has served on the Executive with the local ASIS International
Chapter. Greg is a regular facilitator at the Edmonton Police Service CPTED
seminars, and the Crime Free Multi Housing Programs.
